The racial climate in America is extremely polar and divisive. Through recent years, Black men have been slain at the hands of people in authority. Emmett Till, Trayvon Martin, and Tamar Rice are a few people who lost their lives sooner than they should. With this emotional burden on the backs of Black men across the nation, the Black Male Leadership Initiative was inspired by Chance the Rapper call to outwardly express #BlackBoyJoy. This social movement presents a learning opportunity across all social media outlets to allow Black men to control their narrative. Our annual photoshoot is an opportunity to be grateful of opportunities afforded to us and proudly spread #BlackBoyJoy everywhere.
